My Grandmother, Dorothy Hinman crocheted blankets for all of her grandbabies. I have a beautiful one that she made for me. She made a few extra for some great-grand children. She gave Samuel and Brooklyn one when they were born. She passed away before Madelyn was born, but had made extras so she got one. On a whim, I asked my mom if there just happened to be any more and there was one left! She brought it down for Scarlet when they visited. All my four kids have a special blanket from Grandma Dorothy so we did a little photo shoot with all the blankets.
We have a picture of Great Grandpa Edward & Great Grandma Dorothy in our living room. Madelyn said the other day that she missed Grandma Dorothy and missed how she would play with her. I told her that Grandma Dorothy died before she was born. So then she decided that they must have played together in heaven before Madelyn was born. And I said, that just maybe, she was right.
