John has moved up a rank.

We traveled out into the middle of nowhere to the base where John works to cheer him on as he put on another stripe.
It's tradition to get punched on the "stripes" when you advance. A co-worker and I got the privilege. I was happy to oblige! The picture was taken by someone else, and the settings weren't quite right...oh, well....there will hopefully be more days like this to come.

We ate at In-n-Out Burger to commemorate the occasion. The kids played happily with stickers until their order arrived.

This picture was taken with Dad when we got to go have lunch with him on base a few months ago. It encompasses what Las Vegas livin' is all about. Full sun, rock, and cactus. :)
