Epic Knudson Family trip: Day 5

John had his work appointment this day, so the kids and I headed down to the National Mall one last time.
We all went and took the metro into downtown, and it was so much fun!  Las Vegas needs one of these trains!

We really wanted to see the Declaration of Independence, but the line was so long so we went into the National Art Gallery.  Amazing!  The kids weren't as excited as I was to see works from Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne pretty much anyone you've ever learned about in art history!! My favorites were the Dutch paintings, and I really wish I would have written down a certain painting, because I can see it in my head, but don't know the artist or title.

We then went into the American History museum, and it was literally packed shoulder to shoulder with people (too crazy for a mom trying to keep track of 4 kids) so we visited the gift shop and headed back to the metro.

At our metro stop.

Scarlet did a lot of couch flopping.

Those are Claude Monet paintings behind those cute kiddos!!!!

We also saw our first cherry blossoms of the trip!!
