Epic Family Knudson trip: Day 6

This day was a huge adventure!  We took off early in the morning (still hit traffic in D.C.) and headed north to our final destination of New York City!  I was pretty stoked, no one else thought it was as cool as I did.  We pretty much spent the whole day in the car, so that part wasn't fun either.  We went through 6 states on our drive, and we totally took a picture of each state sign.  (Please excuse all the bad cell phone pictures.)

However, the first really awesome thing we saw was the Washington D.C. temple.  I wish we would have driven up to it.  I had this temple all picked out to get married in when I was a little girl.  Plans changed when things get real.  You are a girl from Montana, and you meet a boy from Michigan.  Good luck getting all of those families across the country!  So we ended up getting married in Montana.

We started in Virginia (I missed the sign when we reentered!) and then drove through these states:

When we got to New Jersey, we thought, hey let's take a tour to Atlantic City on the coast, see the ocean, and have a picnic lunch.  Biggest waste of time ever.  It added at least an hour of driving on, and Atlantic City was such a dump that we didn't even get out our car!  It was a bit scary there....

We finally made it!  NEW YORK BABY!

It was super windy and a bit cold, but sunshiney so we took pictures of the skyline and the Statue of Liberty. These pictures are all from the New Jersey side of the river. Then we played at a nearby park for a little while.

After our stop in New York, we headed home.  We took a different route home and saw loads of beautiful lush Pennsylvania farm land, and we even drove through Gettysburg, but didn't stop because it was late and dark.  We ate dinner at the Cracker Barrel in Harrisburg and arrived late back to our hotel.

To add another state to everything, our rental was from South Carolina!  Fun stuff.
