This is what Sam has been sleeping on. There are a lot of advantages to a loft bed, but it is hard to wash the bedding, and impossible for an adult guest to sleep up there.
So we pulled out his old bed from the garage. This was his first big-boy bed that he started sleeping on when he was two. (Brooklyn came along quickly, when Sam was just 14 months, so she got the crib, and he got a new bed. That all didn't work out too well, but I have since learned my lesson.)
We also put up these torch lights that we got from our friends when they moved. They are just enough light to read by at night, and Sam loves his new setup.
