We sure are enjoying the Olympic games this summer. Swimming and gymnastics are usually my favorites, but I've also been enjoying the volleyball games. The kids have been fascinated with them (and all the commercials) and the girls have even been playing gymnastics every afternoon. Of course, Madelyn is the coach, and Brooklyn the gymnast.
A few weeks ago the USA basketball team came to play a game in Las Vegas. John got tickets through his work, and we decided to go along with our trusty little side kick Scarlet. It took us 2 hours to get through traffic. UNLV doesn't quite have the arena to handle all the people that came to this game. We got there at halftime but it was still worth it to see all the NBA players in person. I didn't recognize most of them, but thank goodness John was there to fill me in.
Scarlet destroyed her outfit with a chocolate ice cream cone!
Kobe....
Most of the good players (well, they are all good) sat on the bench since they were beating the DR by a nice margin.
Oh my, its..........Scotty Pippin! (Go Bulls in the 90's!!)
It was a dream come true to go to this game. I was a tbig basketball fan while I was growing up! Just to prove that I love basketball I am going to do something embarrassing...........um, just ignore the scary decorating. I would go back and fix it if I could!
I was looking for a picture of my room that had my Kobe Bryant poster, but I couldn't find it, so Micheal Jordan will have to do. But believe me, that poster was there. He was the up and coming player when I was young. Also, if Micheal Jordan would have been at the game, I probably would have peed my pants. Really, he's that cool.
Oh, and look what else I found............why is it cut up like that? Because it looked really cool in my scrapbook of course!! This picture is hilarious. Sam says that pose it way too dramatic. I agree, Sam.
And one last one, and only because it makes me feel cool.
I wasn't a superstar basketball player, in fact my coach told me the only reason I was there was to shoot some 3's for the team. (Yeah, he was a nice coach.) I do still love playing. Who's up for a scrimmage?
