Here is an old advertisement on rock side of one of the hills. The road we were driving on used to be an old stage coach route and businesses would put up signs along the way.

Here are some of the plants and flowers that we came across. My Dad, who is a grass seed farmer could tell you the name of each, but I however, cannot.

I think this shot might be my favorite....

We also stopped to take some snapshots while the golden sun was still hanging around.

My awesome and wonderful mum and dad........

As we ventured further into the mountains, we found this gorgeous creek-side field of yellow and purple flowers.

And Sam and Madelyn had to feel how cold the water was....with a little help from their daddy. Madelyn even put her finger in her mouth to taste it....not such a great idea....but there weren't any bad consequences! (Thank goodness)

I thought I would include this picture of Madelyn. The kids just loved exploring the mountains. We got to go on a less-than-frequently-traveled road so that was an adventure in itself. We also saw a coyote, bunny rabbit, and a couple of deer. Although I'm sure that there were many more animals hiding as we drove past....

looks like so much fun! Isn't it magical to be able to take our kids back to our small hometowns and show them all the wonders of country living!!
Great pictures, I love the one of your mom and dad, I love your mom and dad - they are the best.
Let have to let us know when you guys are up there again. Considering we're in MT every month during the summer we might be able to meet up!
