I think this was called Mission Reservoir. If you look closely, you can see there is a waterfall up in the mountains. We wanted to hike up to it, but the sweet french woman at the museum said that are lots of bears and cougars. It was already late in the day, and we didn't want to risk running into either of those in the dark. The Mission mountain range is gorgeous, but I didn't come home with any good landscape shots.
We also visited the catholic mission that started St. Ignatius......

It was beautiful inside....my favorite were the stained glass windows.

Up on the hill there is a little cemetary. My grandparents, as well as a few other family members are burried there. We stopped by and walked around for awhile there. This stop on the trip will always be memorable for me. John had never been, and with there being so much family history there, he heard an earfull of memories.

I didn't know you were born there! I think St. Ignatius is such a beautiful town all snuggled in that little valley. I just went there for the first time like 6 years ago and saw grandpa's and my dad's graves. I need to go again.
Thanks for posting those pictures, I have some really great memories of going to see Grandma there on the farm.
I can't believe we've never taken pics of the farm! Do you think you could send me the full-size ones? My mom would like copies! They're very pretty. : )
so beautiful!
What a great vacation. Love the pictures, it's so pretty and green and cool! I can't wait for a vacation someday.:)
