The beginning of our weekend....

was on Thursday, which was also my birthday, and a very important day for John. He graduated from Airmen Leadership School. Any of you who will never attend a military dinner, this is what it looks like. It was held at the Officer's Club on Nellis. There were lots of cool paintings like the following....And lots of cool glass work....
and I want these beams for my living room.....

We finally made it to the table and sat down to have dinner.

The only reason I am posting the following shot is for posterity's sake. (Ya know just in case Brooklyn said in 20 years, I wonder what mom wore that night?) The chubby cheeks included almost ruled it out.
Here is John with a fellow squadron guy and his "First Shirt"
Here he is getting his graduation certificate
Possibly my favorite picture all night, our friends Andrea and Brandon.

At the end of the night, all the guests and family were treated to a hardy rendition of the Air Force song, sung by all the graduates:
Off we go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun now!)
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,
Off with one helluva roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!
Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!
And just for kicks, I thought I would share a little clip from 60 minutes that talks all about what John does for work. It's always interesting to find out what people actually do, right? The man that is interviewed is John's commander, and he works with all the people in it. Check it out:
