At the end of March, we were lucky enough to get to take a trip the Washington DC area. John had a training there and it coincided with the kids' spring break. It was the first time that our whole family was on a flight together, so it was quite the adventure.
We took a late night flight mostly to save money. We arrived at Dulles around 6:30 am which felt like 3:30 am to us. No one slept well on the flight over and we were exhausted. (Lesson learned, we will be flying during the day if at all possible next time!) We were greeted by some icy cold air when we stepped outside the airport, it was in the 80's in Vegas, so we quickly pulled out our winter coats that we had brought. We had a few hours before we could check into our hotel so we got some breakfast and then went to the Air and Space Museum (Udvar-Hazy Center).
Dad, I took the above picture for you. They had lots of different airplane engines on display.
The coolest part of the museum by far was the space shuttle Discovery. (So cool!!!!) We only wish that we could have seen the inside.
The super exhausted excited kids!
The rest of the day we all took naps and swam in the hotel pool. We were all so excited to be on the east coast!
