a lovely evening

My list of things to blog about is growing long.  We've had a birthday, and lots of fun stuff going on around here.  But, I feel like recording tonight while it's fresh in my mind.  {So here it is with lots of pictures straight from the camera.}We've been busy.  John's been coming home from work exhausted.  Callings, doctors appointments, summer fever, and finishing up the school year.  However, today was a special day, because Brooklyn got to go to "activity days" at church with all the other primary girls ages 8-11.  {She just had her 8th birthday, you know.}  She was so excited because tonight was a daddy daughter dinner!  Dad got to go with her on her very first night!  She came home with all sorts of fun stuff, including a mustache stick.  {There must be a better name for that.}

The weather was absolutely perfect when the sun went down.  80 degrees with a slight breeze.  I made all the kids come out on the trampoline so I could take their picture.  I'm starting to think that snapshots of all the kids are where the story is at.  If all the kids are wearing clothes that their mom forced them to wear, it's not as interesting as mismatched clothes and dirty faces.  Those pictures are for holidays and to hang on walls.

 Then we did a silly one, and the mustache made it's debut.

 We thought that Scarlet would love to try the mustache on....

but she didn't think it fit very well.  (I immediately laugh/giggle/roll on the floor when I look at this picture.)

 What is it about a mustache that brings out every one's silly side?

But then I took some lovely pictures of my husband.  I am so lucky to have him!

{This one has to be my favorite.}

This has got to be the good life!

I love a mustache. And It's true- the kids in their fav outfits are what makes them them. And they will love looking back someday too.
