the road trip.

We set off on Friday morning and drove through Texas. The kids said goodbye to all their favorite places; our house, their school, restaurants and the "people" of Texas, as we drove out of the city.

We stopped in to visit John in San Angelo and see his nifty-difty hotel room that he's been living in for the past few months. It was great to see him and it was hard to say goodbye knowing that it would be quite awhile until we saw him again...and that when we saw him it would be in Las Vegas, our brand new city.

We drove by so many windmills, the kids thought they were so cool and insisted on a picture.

As a day and many hours passed and I realized that we were not even out of Texas yet. But then we passed Happy...;)

We finally made it to Montana where we will stay for a few weeks and enjoy our lovely family and the beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere. It was about 91 degrees when we left Texas, and the thermometer is reading 40 today. It actually snowed this morning! Snow in June!

Some highlights from our road trip.

Sam:

"Mom, did you know that people in France eat snails?"

"Mom, is spying on someone a bad thing?"

"What city are we in?" (about 30 times)

"Are we in Montana yet?" (while still driving in north San Antonio)

.......and many, many more questions!

Brooklyn:

"Oh mom, we forgot to say goodbye to so and so!" (She went through everybody!)

She drew tons of pictures and blew tons of bubbles.

Madelyn:

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" (if I wouldn't keep looking at her)

She sucked on a pacifier the whole way.....and keeps asking me where it is.....

The kids did pretty well, and a huge thanks to my Dad for coming along and driving most of the way!

Last time you were with your parents for weeks you potty trained Sam and Brooklyn. That was so long ago. Reading your blog is making me sad because we are in the same boat here. I am nervous about leaving it all behind. My heart is here now.

Chelsea, how did u take such still photos while driving, mine always look like somebody is waving their hand in front of the camera! You're brave to drive all that way with three kids, how sick are you of the phrase: "Are we there yet?"
