March wrap-up!

What? It's almost mid-April?  My March wrap up is overdue, but here is what our family was up to during the month of March.

We've been heading outside in the evenings.  In Las Vegas you have to soak up the good weather in the springtime.  Once summer hits, no one wants to be outside unless there is water involved.

Here Scarlet is still carrying her dinner and a few precious items she grabbed on the way out the door.

Sam earned his Webelos rank in Cub Scouts and his Arrow of Light.  Great job Samuel!!!

I also got him to wear a tie to church.  First time ever!  Now he wears it proudly every Sunday.

This guy also celebrated his 11th birthday.  We had a pretty low key weekend filled with presents and a special dinner date with Mom and Dad all to himself.  Sam is smart, witty, and definitely fun to be around.

Hottie mustachy John.  Mustache March always comes around too soon.

John got to sand and paint a little strip that was peeling on our house.  (Brought to our attention by the HOA, of course!)  A hard job for him, but it made me thankful that he was able to do it.
Of course we all played outside in the driveway and cheered him on. ;)  And made sure he didn't fall.

We had a week long spring break when we basically hardly left the house.  John and I got several things accomplished, but the kids got their fill of movies and games, and sleeping in.  It was sure hard to go back to school the next week!

I made some vegetable stock to store in the freezer, and my favorite tomato sauce shown below.  It has so many veggies in it and is super delicious.  I also put some of that away for some quick dinners.

On Easter Sunday, we had an outside dinner because the weather was so beautiful.  Our meal consisted of spaghetti (with the sauce above), asparagus, strawberries, sparkling juice, and celery and hummus.  Not much of an Easter feast if you ask me, but it worked and we enjoyed ourselves!

John's tree has finally started sprouting leaves.  Every year it tricks us and we think it has died through the winter. It's a late bloomer.   We are hoping that it is a late grower too, because man, it is still a tiny tree even after 4 years of growing.

Jooooooohn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)  I am so lucky to have him.

Some snap pea shoots.....can't wait to eat those.

Springtime is definitely one of my favorite times of the year!
