Red Cross Dinner - Las Vegas adventure

John is just finishing up his Master's degree with a volunteer internship with the Red Cross.  He's been working really hard, doing that on top of his regular work.  He had to have 250 hours logged.   He was invited to attend a dinner in honor of volunteers at a mansion in Las Vegas.  It was previously owned by Mike Tyson, so that made it a little bit famous.  Think old, 80's glamour type of mansion.  Sure, there was a chandelier in the bathroom, but I would have to do a whole lot of remodeling before I would move in.  The backyard however, was beautiful.
We had a couple of firsts there for our family.  They parked all the cars with Valet, so our kids where like, "What is going on?  Why is that person taking our car away?"  Also, they had a red carpet at the entrance, so a photographer took our picture and made us feel pretty important like celebrities.  We enjoyed some picnic food, and mingled with a few of the people John had met while he was working.
It was a super fun experience.  I could handle going to a party like that every Friday night.....John not so much.

We thought these pictures were funny mostly because John and I are sure that we weren't talking to anyone.  Although it sure looks like it.  John said to write that we were talking to Mike Tyson......you know because he just stopped by to say hi or something. (I know, we're lame.)

Some pictures of the inside:

On our way out, we decided to snap some pictures on the fancy red carpet.
