Well, I have now been to the great state of California. We drove over tonight, and without all the to-dos of home, I am finding time to write down my thoughts. The kids are tucked snuggly into their bed and it's almost bedtime for me. When we got closer to the ocean and I caught my first glimpse, I kind of started panicking. The pacific ocean is so immense and never-ending. It makes me feel so tiny! I turn 29 tomorrow, so this will be a memorable birthday. We are headed off to Seaworld tomorrow and the beach the next day.
We stopped at a lookout before it got dark so the kids could see the water:
After we checked into the hotel, Brooklyn found these flowers laying all over the ground. They had fallen from a hanging vine. She made this little bouquet to decorate our table:
So far, California has made a good impression. Everyone drives way over the speed limit and there is miles of packed traffic on the freeways, but the green rolling hills made up for that. And maybe the ocean. Good night!
